Este. The perfect restaurant?

It’s no secret my favorite cuisine is Mexican. And no, I’m not talking about chips and queso or breakfast tacos—although these undoubtedly hold their own place in my soul. I’m talking about the real deal baby! Mole enchiladas? Oh yeah, I’m there. What about al carbon? You can pretty much marinate any meat in achiote, throw it on the grill, and just know that it’s going to end up delicious. And don’t even get me started on fresh, juicy, tangy, citrusy, cilantro-y, ever so slightly Serrano spicy ceviche. Awwww ya babe. Or maybe do get me started…

Sound good? Well heh..heh…lucky for you we are talking about a restaurant that just might be serving some things along those lines.

Food:

Almaco Jack Ceviche

Drinks:

Viva Margarita: a refreshing agua fresca-esque watermelon margarita

Hoja en Blanco: Este’s take on a Pisco Sour, topped with the Mexican herb Hoja Santa.

Maybe we might be getting ahead of ourselves here. You don’t even need to be seated at a table to start having a good time here. Take in Manor Road’s lifeblood by sitting outside the restaurant on Este’s patio. Or transport yourself to la playa through the coastal blues and sandy tans that furnish the restaurant’s interior.

If you haven’t already fallen in love with this place, they also have their own garden. Maybe you might even be lucky enough to enjoy a garden carrot or cucumber in your dish next time you visit.

Let’s recap.

Delicious, intentional, well-thought-out Mexican cuisine.

Caring staff that also happens to run a garden “utilizing sustainable growing practices” while providing fresh produce to the restaurant.

Beautiful and symbolic architecture and design.

Sound like the perfect restaurant to you? Awwhh yeah babe
